The Junior Common Room (JCR) at St Catherine’s College offers a flexible event suite for professional gatherings, granting the space and freedom to truly inspire.
Expertly blending a collection of settings which allow delegates to both focus and refresh, the JCR delivers a captivating experience for Oxford-based conferences.
Located at the heart of the College, this versatile space combines a tiered lecture theatre with adjoining breakout rooms, exhibition areas and informal networking spaces.
With built-in AV, air-conditioning and interconnected rooms, the JCR suite allows organisers to run keynote sessions, breakout discussions and poster exhibitions, all from one convenient location.
Refreshments are served from the adjoining JCR Lounge, with doors opening onto the picturesque Café Garden for relaxed networking between sessions.

JCR PDR Breakout Room
Located within the JCR complex, the PDR provides a versatile breakout space that connects directly to the Lecture Theatre.
The room can be arranged in a host of layouts to support workshops, breakout discussions or smaller meetings during a conference programme. Large skylights bring natural light into the space, creating a bright and comfortable environment for delegates.
The PDR also works well for poster displays or small exhibitions, giving organisers additional flexibility within the JCR suite.
Outside conference use, the room can also be set up as a Private Dining Room, seating approximately 34 guests around a rectangular table.

JCR Bar Annex
The JCR Bar Annex provides additional flexible space within the JCR complex.
Located close to the Lecture Theatre, Lounge and Bar, the room works particularly well alongside refreshment breaks when delegates are moving between sessions. AV equipment can also be installed in the room on request.
In the evenings, the Bar Annex can be used by guests attending banquet dinners or receptions, offering a relaxed setting for post-dinner networking or entertainment with convenient access to the JCR Bar.

The JCR Lounge and Cafe Garden
The JCR Lounge acts as the central hub for the JCR meeting spaces. It is typically used for registration, teas and coffees and informal networking during conferences.
Large French windows open directly onto the JCR Café Garden, creating a pleasant indoor-outdoor space where delegates can step outside between sessions. The Lounge can also accommodate a small number of exhibitor stands or poster boards.
While the Lounge is not a formal bookable meeting room, its use alongside the other JCR facilities adds an extra dimension to event catering and networking.
The Lounge measures approximately 9.2m x 15.9m and features a distinctive sunken seating area at one end.
