The Junior Common Room (JCR) Lecture Theatre and Private Dining Room (PDR)
The JCR offers a medium-sized, tiered lecture theatre for up to 90 guests (with table space in front of 80 of the seats) with an adjoining breakout room for up to 40. Both of these rooms come with built-in AV equipment and air-conditioning and are available during vacations. Refreshments are served from the JCR Lounge with doors leading out onto a lovely Cafe Garden. Registration activity can also take place in the JCR as required.
The full JCR suite also offers the potential further option to hire the JCR Bar Annex (perfect for posters and exhibitions or as further breakout space).

JCR Lecture Theatre
General
The Junior Common Room (JCR) Theatre is a stylish lecture room located at the heart of the College. It has tiered seating for up to 80 guests (with fixed desk space in front of each person) and can hold up to 90 guests in total when additional chairs are added. The Theatre has built-in AV equipment including a presenter’s lectern, screen, data projector and whiteboard (behind the screen).
For conference bookings, the JCR Theatre comes with use of the PDR breakout room (via inter-connecting doors). Refreshments are generally served in the adjoining JCR lounge (which leads out onto the JCR Cafe Garden). The JCR Bar Annex is also usually available to hire in tandem with these spaces as an extra room, perfect for poster exhibitions.
The JCR facilities are generally only available during vacations.

The PDR is located within our Junior Common Room (JCR) complex and is generally offered during vacations as a breakout room to accompany the JCR Lecture Theatre as there are interconnecting doors between the two spaces.
It is a very flexible room which can seat guests in a range of layouts and has built-in AV equipment. Large skylights allow lots of natural light into the room and it has the capacity to host small poster exhibitions. The PDR can also be used as a stand-alone Private Dining Room, seating up to circa 34 guests in a rectangular table set up.
The room measures 9.15m x 7.10m (approx) and is a flat space with a wooden floor.

The Bar Annex is located within the Junior Common Room complex, near the JCR Lecture Theatre, Lounge and Bar (Bar open in the evenings only). It is a flexible space which is perfect for larger poster displays / exhibitions during the daytime, around teas and coffees being served from the JCR Lounge. AV can be added into the room upon request (at extra cost).
The Bar Annex is also available to guests taking banquet dinners with us in the evenings as it provides the perfect space for post-dinner entertainment or networking with easy access to the Bar.

The Junior Common Room (JCR) Lounge is used in conjunction with the other JCR meeting facilties as a registration and refreshment space. It has large French windows which open out onto the JCR Cafe Garden and can usually also provide space for one or two exhibitor stands/poster boards.
As the Lounge is a communal area (particulalry in the evenings during vacations for our residential guests), it is not a formal, bookable space other than for refreshment purposes but adds a wonderful extra dimension to event catering. Use of the JCR Lounge is only available during vacations as it forms our student hub during term times.
The JCR Lounge measures 9.2m x 15.9m (approx) and features a ‘seating pit’ at one end.
